Chess in Venezuela

Chess is a strategy game in which the objective is to "overthrow" the king of the opponent. The term "checkmate" comes from the Persian term ‘shab mat’, which means, "The king is dead."

In addition, I begin my reflection of the recent political events in Venezuela settle on this board:

On December 1, the “armando.info” journalistic investigation website published a report that linked Luis Parra and other opposition congressional representatives with corruption cases related to the Nicolás Maduro government's food distribution program.

The congressional representative got himself expelled from his First Justice (PJ) political party, the same of former presidential candidate Henrique Capriles Randonksi and politician Julio Borges. Provisional President Juan Guaidó announced a parliamentary investigation for "suspicions" of bribes, Parra broke up with him denying the accusations and, on January 5th, he ended up sworn in as head of Congress, catapulted by Chavismo political heads, in a controversial and extremely chaotic session in the Legislative Palace.

Finally, Guaidó managed to forcibly enter the building and was sworn in, again, as interim president of the country after being held in the immediate vicinity of the building by a police cordon of the Bolivarian National Guard. The swearing in was carried out with the support of a few dozen of opposition congressional representatives.

The regime has tried all kinds of maneuvers to dismantle the National Assembly because it is the only legitimate institution left in the country, and the institution by which Guaidó is recognized as president by more than 50 countries worldwide.

The National Assembly is our "King" – hence why Maduro is so committed to push the Parliamentary elections to this year and force the opposition out of power through authoritarian methods.

Ajedrez en Venezuela

El ajedrez es un juego de estrategia en el que el objetivo es «derrocar» al rey del oponente. El término “jaque mate” proviene del persa shab mat, que significa “El rey ha muerto”.

Y comienzo mi reflexion de los recientes acontecimientos politicos en Venezuela puestos en este tablero:

El pasado 1 de diciembre, el sitio web de investigación periodística Armando.Info publicó un reportaje que vinculó a Luis Parra y a otros congresistas opositores con casos de corrupción relacionados con el programa de distribución de alimentos del gobierno de Nicolás Maduro.

El diputado fue expulsado de su partido Primero Justicia (PJ), el mismo del ex candidato presidencial Henrique Capriles Randonksi y del diputado Julio Borges. Guaidó anunció una investigación parlamentaria por "sospechas" de sobornos, Parra rompió con él negando las acusaciones y el 5 de Enero terminó juramentándose como jefe del Congreso, catapultado por el chavismo, en una convulsionada sesión en el Palacio Legislativo.

Finalmente Guaidó, consiguió entrar a la fuerza al hemiciclo y juramentar su cargo de presidente interino del país después de permanecer retenido en las inmediaciones del edificio por un cordón policial de la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana. La juramentación se realizó con el respaldo de un centenar de diputados opositores.

El régimen ha intentado todo tipo de maniobras para desarticular a la Asamblea Nacional porque es la única institución legítima del país, y la institución por la que Guaidó es reconocido como presidente encargado por más de 50 países.

La Asamblea es nuestro “Rey” Por eso Maduro está tan empeñado en adelantar los comicios parlamentarios para este 2020 y forzar a la oposicion fuera del poder a traves de metodos autoritarios.
