María Corina… Without Freedom, There Is No Peace!

As a Venezuelan, as a woman, and as a mother, I cannot be prouder of our unbreakable leader, María Corina Machado!!!

I would like to share with you part of her Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, delivered by her daughter Ana Corina Sosa in Oslo on December 10, 2025.

“Your Majesties, Your Royal Highnesses, distinguished members of the Nobel Committee, citizens of the world, and my dear Venezuelans:

I have come here to tell you a story: the story of a people and their long march toward freedom. Venezuela was born from audacity and a fusion of peoples and cultures. From Spain we inherited language, faith, and culture, fused with our indigenous and African roots. In 1811 we wrote one of the earliest republican constitutions in the Spanish-speaking world, affirming the radical idea that every human being holds sovereign dignity.

In the 20th century, our land flourished: we discovered oil, and in peace we turned that wealth into a motor for knowledge and imagination. We built universities, sent young people to study abroad, opened our arms to migrants and refugees from every war and dictatorship — and thus forged a tradition of freedom.

But that freedom was dismantled. The democracy we once were ceased to exist, and millions of Venezuelans were forced into exile. The dictatorship that followed stole rights, hope, and the dignity we had defended for generations.

Today, the Nobel Peace Prize I receive on behalf of my mother, María Corina Machado, is a recognition of the democratic struggle of an entire people for truth, justice, and freedom. This struggle is not revenge, but justice; not retribution, but dignity.

We live with the conviction that Venezuela will breathe again. That democracy will return. That our rights will be restored. And until that day comes, we will not give up.”

Maria Corina… Sin Libertad No Hay Paz!

Como venezolana, como mujer y como madre, no puedo estar más orgullosa de nuestra líder inquebrantable, María Corina Machado!!!

Quisiera compartir con ustedes parte de su discurso de aceptación del Premio Nobel de la Paz 2025, pronunciado por su hija Ana Corina Sosa, en Oslo el 10 de diciembre de 2025:

"Sus Majestades, altezas reales, distinguidos miembros del Comité Nobel, ciudadanos del mundo, mis queridos venezolanos:

He venido aquí para contarles una historia: la historia de un pueblo y su larga marcha hacia la libertad. Venezuela nació de la audacia y la mezcla de pueblos y culturas. De España heredamos lengua, fe y cultura, que se fusionaron con nuestras raíces indígenas y africanas. Ya en 1811 escribimos una de las primeras constituciones republicanas del mundo hispanohablante, afirmando la idea radical de que cada ser humano posee una dignidad soberana.

En el siglo XX, nuestra tierra floreció: descubrimos petróleo, y en paz convertimos esa riqueza en motor de conocimiento e imaginación. Construimos universidades, enviamos jóvenes a estudiar fuera, abrimos nuestros brazos a migrantes y refugiados de toda guerra y dictadura, y así marcamos una tradición de libertad.

Pero esa libertad fue desmantelada. La democracia que alguna vez fuimos dejó de existir y millones de venezolanos fueron forzados al exilio. La dictadura que sucedió robó derechos, esperanza, y la dignidad que habíamos defendido por generaciones.

Hoy, el Premio Nobel de la Paz que recibo en nombre de mi madre, María Corina Machado, es un reconocimiento a la lucha democrática de un pueblo entero por la verdad, la justicia y la libertad. Esta lucha no es revancha, sino justicia; no es desquite, sino dignidad.

Vivimos con la convicción de que Venezuela volverá a respirar. Que la democracia retornará. Que nuestros derechos serán restaurados. Y hasta que ese día llegue, no nos rendiremos”.
